In the realm of T Wyatt Bridges Photography, there are no rules. I don't get caught up in restraints about how fashion photography or editorial portraits "should" be done. Since I don't impose certain looks on models or make them jump through hoops, there is a lot of creative freedom, and I am inspired by the opportunity to capture models in a manner that transcends even their own self-image. My goal is to meet the needs of the client, assist in their visual process, and add a fresh point of view. I am dedicated to a collaborative relationship with photography clients.
My professional history has varied wildly - from industrial work to motion picture work to firefighting to working with juvenile delinquents as a rock climbing instructor - to name a few. This unique past and exposure to many different types of people has opened my mind and made it easy to quickly relate to different personalities, which only increases opportunities to be creative.
The goal of my photography team is to create a comfortable work environment with open communication. I strive to make people feel relaxed, to make them laugh, and to entice them to let down their guard and reveal their inner spirit to the camera. My focus is not to simply take a picture, but to build a rapport between myself and the subject in order to create images that are unique - almost spiritual.
Choosing projects that interest and inspire me is very important. I ask lots of questions of the client and listen in order to build a relationship and get a clear concept of the client's needs. Then before shooting reportage photography or editorial photography, I do extensive research on the subject in order to broaden my knowledge base and further encourage creativity. My goal is to create images that are creative and groundbreaking, while delivering consistent work to the client and capturing their unique vision.
I was inspired this year to research cold war relics and tour the boneyards of Western USA. The resulting Peeps in the Cold War gallery is an ongoing project that will eventually become a book about cold war relics.
I also do production/location scouting, assist with production organization, and have grip rental equipment as well a studio available for daily rental.
